The Impact of Digital Technologies on Algerian Library Services

Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has profoundly transformed Algerian library services and fostered the emergence of a new type of institution: the advanced electronic library. These libraries provide students and researchers with a wide range of intelligent services through technologies such as artificial intelligence, radio-frequency identification (RFID), cloud computing, and data-management systems. Nevertheless, Algerian libraries face several challenges in keeping pace with technological developments. The transition requires substantial technical, organizational, and human resources, and deficiencies in these areas may create gaps in service delivery and compromise the future quality of scientific research.
