Author Guidelines

Submission Overview and Scope
The Journal of Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics (J-FLTAL) welcomes original, high-quality research articles, theoretical papers, and critical reviews from scholars, educators, and practitioners worldwide. All submissions must be written in clear, academic English and should substantially address contemporary issues, methodologies, or theories within the fields of foreign language teaching and applied linguistics. By submitting a manuscript to J-FLTAL, authors confirm that their work is entirely original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration for publication by any other journal or press.

Manuscript Preparation
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are meticulously prepared and structured before submission. The main text should be accompanied by a concise abstract and a list of key terms that accurately reflect the core themes of the research. To facilitate our rigorous double-blind peer review process, authors must prepare a separate title page containing the article title, author names, institutional affiliations, and contact details. The main manuscript file must remain completely anonymized, stripped of any identifying information that could reveal the authors' identities to the reviewers. Authors are expected to follow standard academic citation and formatting styles (such as APA) for all in-text citations and reference lists.

Peer Review and Academic Integrity
J-FLTAL is fundamentally committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Upon receipt, all manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to ensure they align with the journal's scope and formatting requirements. Passing this, manuscripts are sent for a double-blind peer review by independent, international experts in the field. This ensures that every published article is evaluated strictly on its academic merit, methodological rigor, and contribution to the discipline. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited, and authors bear the sole responsibility for obtaining necessary permissions for any third-party materials, data, or figures included in their work.

Financial Policies
We firmly believe in equitable, barrier-free access to scholarly publishing. J-FLTAL operates under a strict diamond open-access model. There are absolutely no financial barriers for our contributors: we do not charge any submission fees, Article Processing Charges (APCs), or hidden editorial costs at any stage of the process. Publishing with J-FLTAL is completely free of charge.

Copyright and Licensing
Upon the acceptance and publication of an article, the copyright is formally held by the Journal. However, in alignment with our commitment to open and accessible science, all published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This permits the global academic community to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, and build upon the work for any non-commercial purpose, provided that the original authors and J-FLTAL are properly credited and cited.
