This study examines the transformations that education has undergone in the contemporary era through Edgar Morin’s conception of complex thought. This conception calls for phenomena to be understood in their interconnectedness and complexity rather than through simplification or reduction. The study also emphasises the need to shift from the transmission of knowledge to the development of learners’ scientific thinking skills. This orientation is consistent with Algeria’s educational reforms, which seek to modernise education and improve its quality amid contemporary intellectual and technological transformations.
