Abstract

Business sustainability has emerged as a fundamental strategic priority for organizations seeking to achieve long-term competitiveness, resilience, and stakeholder trust in an increasingly complex global environment. Rising environmental degradation, climate change, resource depletion, social inequality, and evolving stakeholder expectations have compelled businesses to move beyond traditional profit-oriented models toward more responsible and sustainable approaches to value creation. The adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), introduced through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, has provided a globally recognized framework that encourages organizations to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into their corporate strategies. Rather than viewing sustainability solely as a corporate social responsibility initiative, leading organizations increasingly recognize it as a driver of innovation, operational excellence, risk management, and sustainable competitive advantage.
